In close collaboration with the Wisconsin Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources (DEHCR) we are working together to bring the upcoming programs and benefits to so many low and fixed-income households struggling to pay for record increases in energy costs. We are anticipating an early start for those on fixed incomes during September. For all other non-elderly fixed-income households we are planning on accepting applications no later than October 1. Our staff will begin scheduling in-person applications or establish October dates for on-demand or online applications for Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) assistance. Should there be any changes that provide for non-fixed income households prior to October 1 we will continue to reach out to those in need.
The 2023-2024 gross income guidelines have increased so many who were slightly above the previous guidelines may now apply.
